Alanna Maycock

Alanna is a Clinical Nurse Consultant working in refugee health at the Children’s Hospital Westmead. Alanna has been working with refugees and asylum seekers in Australia and the UK for over fourteen years. She currently manages the Health Assessment for Refugee Kids Clinic (HARK) that screens, supports and meets the needs of children from refugee backgrounds. In December 2014 Alanna was asked by IHMS to go to Nauru and assess some of the children and examine the health care service provision in the Regional Processing Centre on the Island. Alanna presents nationally and has presented internationally alongside world leaders on the health issues caused to children and their families by mandatory detention.
