BUILDING BRIGHTER FUTURES
23 – 25th April, 2026
Building Brighter Futures
Join us for the fifth Annual Academy of Child and Adolescent Health Conference, with the theme of “Building Brighter Futures.” The event will be held in the beautiful Top End of Australia, Darwin, on Larrakia Country, from 23 – 25 April, 2026.
This conference will explore the journey of children and adolescents in Australia and beyond – from the neonatal period, to early childhood, schooling and adolescence, culminating in a focus on population health and environmental health. The organising committee is excited to welcome you to the Top End for a chance to connect, educate, and be inspired alongside passionate delegates from all over the country.
Key topics and highlights will include:
- The health of First Nations people
- Health research and initiatives in Timor-Leste
- Youth justice and mental health
- Health and environmental advocacy
You’ll hear from strong advocates, research champions, and those with lived experiences who are making real change. In the evenings, we’ll show you the very best of what Darwin has to offer – think vibrant sunset markets alongside beautiful ocean views.
We look forward to seeing you in Darwin!

See the best of Darwin in April
In the dry season, there is no shortage of things to do. We aim to showcase Darwin’s social scene by organising several excursions for delegates to choose from:
Thursday Night
Mindil Beach Sunset Markets: If food trucks and epic sunsets are more your vibe, jump on the delegate-only shuttle bus to the popular Mindil Beach markets, loved by locals and visitors alike. Peruse local well-loved food stalls and take your spot to watch the Darwin sunset, which are arguably one of the most beautiful in the world.
Friday Night Delegate Dinner
Have a chance to chat with your fellow delegates, socialise with speakers and get to know more about ACAH by attending the delegate dinner at a local Darwin spot to watch the sunset over a cold drink to beat the heat. Registered delegates will receive an invitation once location and pricing is confirmed.

Hear from our previous attendees
First trip out of Queensland, networking, quality of conference discussions and sessions. Great not just to hear about lists of causes or new drug management, but to spend time on “wicked problems” effecting our lives/work. Also to listen to passionate people where their job is a vocation!
Delegate, ACAH2022
I enjoyed connecting with like-minded people who are passionate about working to improve, and advocating for, children and young people’s health. The breadth and depth of accumulated experience of attendees and presenters at the conference was really inspiring to see.
Delegate, ACAH2022
Excellent conference – covered very topical issues in Paediatrics with each speaker best suited to speak on each. Very well organised. Thankyou.
