ACAH26
BUILDING BRIGHTER FUTURES
23 – 25 April, 2026 | Darwin, NT
Thank you for attending!
What a conference. Three days on Larrakia Country with paediatricians, allied health professionals, trainees, students and researchers from across the country — connected by a shared commitment to children and young people.
The programme tackled the issues that matter: youth justice, environmental health, children living in war and conflict regions, youth mental health, birthing on country, rheumatic fever, and medication safety. We heard from leading First Nations presenters, original researchers, and speakers with lived experience whose contributions gave the conference its heart.
Congratulations to our ACAH26 Research Prize winners
- Overall Research Prize: Dr Stephanie Nesbit. Compliance with standards for echocardiography and clinical review in children with acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease in Central Australia and the Barkly, 2019–2023.
- Higher Degree Research Prize: Dr Patrick Hawker. Growing Minds Feeling Good — a family-focused digital intervention for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities.
With thanks
To our Conference Co-Chairs Marissa Loh and Monica Parker, the organising committee, the Prevocational Committee, our speakers, sponsors and every delegate who travelled to the Top End. Thank you. ACAH26 was yours.
Looking ahead: ACAH27
Planning is underway for our sixth annual conference. Opportunities to get involved as a presenter, sponsor or organising committee member will be shared in coming months.
